After its announcement at the 21st Conference of the Parties in Paris, Climate Action 2016 will host a gathering where government, business, municipal leaders, civil society and academia will deliberate on multi-stakeholder climate implementation. The multi-stakeholder summit aims to promote climate action for cities in the areas of land use, resilience, energy, transport, tools for decision makers, and finance. Seven organisations have partnered to host this summit, these include the World Bank; the Global Environment Facility (GEF); the Compact of Mayors; the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD); We Mean Business; and the University of Maryland.
The summit will involve engagement through plenary sessions that will cover content on various climate commitments across all sectors. For more information on this event, visit the Climate Action 2016 website.
