On December 5th, during the Climate Summit for Local Leaders in Paris, Mayor James Nuxmalo presented Durban’s Hub and Compact approach to climate change adaptation as part of ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability’s Transformative Actions Programme. Mayor Nxumalo also announced that Durban will be establishing a Knowledge Hub as part of the Urban Climate Change Research Network’s (UCCRN) Knowledge Network. UCCRN have partnered with the DAC to facilitate city access to urban climate change knowledge to help build capacity, especially in Africa. UCCRN’s participation in COP21 was a key part of the cities and climate conversation in Paris. The ARC3.2 Summary for City Leaders was launched at the Climate Summit for Local Leaders, which was attended by about 1,000 mayors. Many of these stakeholders are looking forward to the release of the full publication in 2016. Please feel free to share the Summary with your network or city leaders. The Summary is available for download on UCCRN’s website.
