The first Durban Adaptation Charter (DAC) Southern African Regional Workshop was held in Durban, South Africa from the 14-16 October 2015 in partnership with ICLEI’s Local Climate Solutions for Africa Congress. The Workshop was well supported with 169 delegates from 20 countries attending (18 of which were from the African continent). The workshop covered a wide range of topics including narrowing the gap between adaptation and mitigation, addressing climate finance, and promoting international engagement between cities. One of the key parts of the Workshop was the climate change communication-focussed training that was provided by the Climate Reality Project. A short video clip on the responses from delegates that attended the Workshop can be accessed from the ICLEI website.
