The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of International and Tribal Affairs recently invited eThekwini Municipality’s Dr Debra Roberts, to deliver a presentation on Durban’s adaptation planning process and actions to date at the Washington Adaptation Community Meeting from the 17th – 18th September 2015. Dr. Roberts provided a presentation to USAID staff as well as a briefing on Capitol Hill on the Durban Adaptation Charter (DAC). The discussion highlighted the importance of peer learning, locally-driven adaptation solutions and climate compacts. In between the presentations Dr. Roberts also met with representatives of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Counterpoint, the US State Department and USEPA to discuss the DAC and adaptation related issues. The trip was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). For more information, click here.
