The Climate System Analysis Group (CSAG) based at the University of Cape Town, South Africa will be running its annual Winter School on using climate information for adaptation and policy development from 27 June – 1 July 2016. This one-week intensive course has been developed specifically for participants from developing countries and aims to take participants through the full spectrum of climate and climate change related topics. These include understanding:
Risk and vulnerability framing
Climate modelling theory
Climate change projections
Climate adaptation frameworks
Adaptation planning, policy and decision making
This course is aimed at professionals who are dealing with decision and policy development incorporating climate and climate change issues within sectors such as Government Departments and Ministries, City Councils and Local Municipalities, NGOs, corporate organisations and environmental consultancies.
The final deadline for applications is 30 May 2016. Please note that places on this course are limited to a maximum of 23 and as demand for these places is high, interested individuals are urged to apply early. A limited number of sponsorships are available for applicants. These sponsorships are primarily for candidates from less developed countries, especially those from Africa.
